I believe humans are wired to love a variety of whole foods and vegetables. This includes children, from the moment they are born. This is a belief that is integral to my approach to helping children learn to love a variety of whole plant foods. Tofu Cabbage Pockets

Here is another recipe for children to help make. We had a lot of fun wrapping the cabbage around the tofu and securing with the toothpick. They’re also pretty cute when finished.

I got the idea for this recipe from the Mitoku website. Mitoku is a company in Japan that provides a lot of high quality ingredients like miso and shoyu that I use regularly. Continue reading

Eat Local and In Season.

It’s natural to become more mindful the more we connect with nature. By eating local foods that are in season, our bodies adapt to our climates and we connect more with the area in which we live. We also become more mindful about the rhythms of the seasons and the increase in active and expansive energy in the summer and the inward reflection of winter.
